𝗟𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗼 𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽, 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗻, 𝗔𝗣𝗖 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗴𝘂𝗻… PDP Assures Residents

The Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP watched with utter dismay and trepidation the dismissal of petitions by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal(PEPT) led by Justice Haruna Tsammani till late hour on Wednesday and we registered our deep-seated reservation on the desired deepening of the culture of constitutional democracy in the nation’s body polity, going forward.

No doubt, the outcome of the judgment, in its entirety did not reflect the spirit of the nation’s Constitution and the electoral laws, as amended and justice was not served as envisaged.

However, the Presidential Election Tribunal in its wisdom has refused to accept the obvious. 𝙄𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙊𝙜𝙪𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚, 𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙊𝙜𝙪𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙮’𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙜𝙪𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙗𝙚𝙤𝙠𝙪𝙩𝙖. The grounds and relieves are not the same, also the circumstances. The facts in detail and processes are not also same. Therefore, the infantile fantasies of the APC and its outgoing Dapo Abiodun over the Presidential Tribunal are just a laughable self-consolation. It is a pyrrhic dance that would fizzle into the air in no time.

Erudite members of our legal team have displayed uncommon dexterity and fecundity in presenting hard and uncontroverted evidence to prove our case beyond every reasonable doubt and we are confident, given the enormity of evidence presented before the honourable tribunal, all on points of law, we have good reasons to believe that justice would be served in Ogun State.

We, therefore, urge all our loyal members, and indeed supporters and all lovers of democracy and Ogun State in particular, to remain focused, hopeful and prayerful because, 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙤𝙤𝙣, 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙊𝙜𝙪𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚.
