The Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP watched with utter dismay and trepidation the dismissal of petitions by the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal(PEPT) led by Justice Haruna Tsammani till late hour on Wednesday and we registered our deep-seated reservation on the desired deepening of the culture of constitutional democracy in the nationโs body polity, going forward.
No doubt, the outcome of the judgment, in its entirety did not reflect the spirit of the nationโs Constitution and the electoral laws, as amended and justice was not served as envisaged.

The grounds and relieves are not the same, also the circumstances. The facts in detail and processes are not also same. Therefore, the infantile fantasies of the APC and its outgoing Dapo Abiodun over the Presidential Tribunal are just a laughable self-consolation. It is a pyrrhic dance that would fizzle into the air in no time.
Erudite members of our legal team have displayed uncommon dexterity and fecundity in presenting hard and uncontroverted evidence to prove our case beyond every reasonable doubt and we are confident, given the enormity of evidence presented before the honourable tribunal, all on points of law, we have good reasons to believe that justice would be served in Ogun State.
