𝗢𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗣𝗗𝗣 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗖 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲
The Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP condemns, in strong terms the unnecessary arson on the Abeokuta South Local Government Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. According to media reports, the dastard act was carried out in the early hours of yesterday Thursday 10/11/22 by a gang of unidentified arsonists.
This unpatriotic attack on government facility is a direct confirmation of our party’s genuine concerns about the security and wellbeing of the good people of Ogun State and Abeokuta metropolis in particular, following the insensitive macabre walk of shame which threatened the public safety just few hours ago in the State Capital.
From all indications, the attack on INEC and its facilities where thousands of voters’ cards, gadgets and several other valuables were burnt to ashes should not be too far away from the rejected politicians who have lost faces with the people and are seeking reelection by all means possible.
Without mincing words and in strong condemnation of the dastard act, we challenge all security agencies in the State to summon and deploy all necessary apparatus to ensure a thorough investigation into the ugly incidence and expose the identities of the unscrupulous elements behind this action. We can only hope and pray that Ogun State is not drifting back to the old days of violent attacks on public facilities and persons.
