BUA President, Abdul Samad Rabiu Reappointed President Of France-nigeria Business Council By French President, Macron

Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, one of Africa’s largest foods, mining, manufacturing and infrastructure companies, has been re-appointed as President of the France Nigeria Business Council by President Emmanuel Macron of France.
This was announced at the July 2022 Meeting of the France Nigeria Business Council held in Paris. Addressing the council, Abdul Samad Rabiu thanked members for coming and remarked that it was a personal honour for him to be a part of the France Nigeria Business Council, and also a privilege to serve as the pioneer President of the Council which was inaugurated just over a year ago and now, be reappointed as President.
He also thanked President Macron for his support and, for reappointing him as well as Jean Haas of Relais (France) as President of the Council, and Head of the Secretariat respectively.The France Nigeria Business Council brings together the top businesses in Nigeria and France with a goal of improving business relations between Nigeria and France whilst ensuring routine cooperation that will bring about immense economic benefits for both countries.
French members of the council include the Global Chief Executives of Total Energies, Dassault, Axens, Accor, CMA, amongst others and on the Nigerian side, Dr Mike Adenuga of Globacom & Conoil, Jim Ovia of Zenith Bank, Gilbert Chagoury of Chagoury Group, Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group, Tony Elumelu of UBA, Heirs Holdings and Tony Elumelu Foundation, Dr. Herbert Wigwe of Access Bank Group, Dr. Philip Mshelbila of NLNG, Sen. Daisy Danjuma of Sapetro and May & Baker, and Abdul Samad Rabiu of BUA Group & the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) who is the current president. Speaking further, Abdul Samad Rabiu praised the progress that has been made by the France Nigeria Business Council since its inauguration and the commitment of members – despite slow global recovery, in pushing forward with various partnerships. These include plans by some of Nigeria’s biggest banks to set up subsidiaries in France, and BUA’s partnership with Axens of France to build a 200,000bpd refinery in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria amongst other key projects by members. Abdul Samad also encouraged members of this council to keep seeking for partnership opportunities, whilst planning, working together and adding value to each other so that successes already being created can be escalated for the mutual economic benefit of Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy and, France – a global economic leader. It is also expected that Rabiu’s current tenure will see the creation of working sub-committees and sectoral groups to enhance the council’s effectiveness.

Kwara Gov names 16 LGA Devt Officers
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of 16 local government area development officers (LGA-DOs).
The LGA-DOs are Adisa Jimoh Olarewaju (Asa); Asaburu Umar Mora (Baruten); Mohammed Haruna Likpata (Edu); Ajiboye Yemisi (Ekiti); Ayanshola Benjamin (Ifelodun); Ajao Omotayo Garba (Ilorin East); Yisa Abdulrauf Ayodeji (Ilorin South); Abdullahi Abdulfatai Ajia (Ilorin West); Awodiji Omotayo Felix (Irepodun); Dr (Mrs) Sarah Oloyede (Isin); Salihu Sadiq Yakub (Kaiama); Sulu Emiola Agnes (Moro); Abass Zanjan Damilola (Offa); Taye Babalola (Oke Ero); Oladipo Ayobami Adeoye (Oyun); and Fatimah Asabe Jiyah (Patigi).
The appointments are with immediate effect.

Gov AbdulRazaq reappoints Bello Taoheed, as TESCOM is reconstituted
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reappointed Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar as the chairman of the state Teaching Service Commission (TSC) for another term of four years.
The Governor also reappointed Alhaji Mustapha Kobe to serve on the commission for another term.
The two other commissioners are Suleiman Abubakar Danseko and Daniel Eunice Bosede.
The appointments take immediate effect.

Asake, Kizz Daniel, Chike now Glo brand ambassadors

Total telecommunications solutions provider, Globacom, on Friday explained that it appointed the trio of Ahmed Ololade, a.k.a Asake; Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe Daniel popularly known as Kizz Daniel and Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka as ambassadors.
Asake, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State; Kizz Daniel, a degree in Water Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Chike, a Computer Engineering graduate of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State were signed to the Glo family at the Mike Adenuga Towers, Victoria Island head office of the telecommunications giant.
Globacom noted that the announcement of the three brand ambassadors was part of its celebration of the 20th anniversary of Glo and added that it appointed the new ambassadors. “to project the power of youth and enterprise and how much they can achieve with the right focus, passion and dedication that can come from seeing others who have succeeded. This is very much part of our tradition as we believe the strength of a nation lies in the ability and potentials of its youth”.
“The engagement of these three stars as ambassadors “is meant to project the best Nigerians as models for younger people who are tirelessly aspiring to succeed. This is more important in an era where positive heroes and mentors are scarce and hard to come by. The intention is not just to promote the growth of music, Nollywood and sports where we have been very prominent, but also to encourage our teeming youths to aspire toward realizing their dreams by looking up to these ambassadors as mentors”, the company disclosed.
Globacom, Nigeria’s biggest corporate supporter of arts and entertainment in Nigeria, has, over the years developed and sustained the culture of empowering talented and outstanding Nigerian artistes as ambassadors.
While congratulating the new ambassadors, Globacom urged youths not to relent until they achieve their dreams like Asake, Kizz Daniel and Chike. It added that “this is our way of inspiring a whole generation of young people with vision who can do better and achieve more without losing hope along the way, even when confronted with challenges”.
The new ambassadors expressed appreciation to the Chairman of Globacom, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr., promising to represent the Glo brand well by constantly projecting its ideals.
