Madrid Derby Headline Big European Football Weekend on DStv, GOtv

The European football season continues to gather pace, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea facing key Premier League fixtures, while Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, Roma, PSG and Monaco return to domestic action.

Premier League: Arsenal and Liverpool Face Away Tests

Brentford host Chelsea on Friday at 8:00 pm, with both sides coming off 2–2 league draws. Chelsea were held by Hull City, while Brentford drew with Bournemouth.

Saturday sees Tottenham host Aston Villa at 12:30 pm, with Spurs still searching for their first league win after drawing 0–0 with Everton. Brighton then welcome Arsenal at 3:00 pm, with the Gunners looking to maintain their perfect start after four straight league wins.

On Sunday, Bournemouth host Liverpool at 2:00 pm, with Liverpool looking to respond after a goalless draw with Fulham. Fulham host Man United at 4:30 pm. United will be looking to bounce back from the derby defeat and their dramatic 3–2 Carabao Cup loss to Brighton.

La Liga: Barcelona Face Sevilla Test as Madrid Meet Atlético

Barcelona take their perfect league record to Sevilla on Saturday at 8:00 pm. The champions have won all five league matches, scoring 28 goals, after their 7–2 midweek win over Racing Santander. Sevilla, meanwhile, have also started strongly after beating Deportivo 1–0. Athletic Club also host Alavés earlier on Saturday at 3:15 pm.

Sunday brings the Madrid derby as Atlético Madrid host Real Madrid at 3:15 pm. Atlético head into the clash after a 4–0 victory over Osasuna, while Madrid had to work hard for a 3–2 win at Elche. Winner takes second place and keeps momentum with Barcelona.

Serie A: Roma and Inter Meet at the Summit

Serie A’s biggest fixture of the weekend sees Roma host Inter on Saturday at 5:00 pm, with both sides entering the clash with perfect records. Roma made it four wins from four with a 2–0 victory over Torino, while Inter produced a remarkable comeback to beat Udinese 5–3 after falling two goals behind. Both sides sit on 12 points, setting up a meeting between the joint leaders.

Fiorentina host Napoli on Sunday at 11:30 am, with Napoli looking to build on their 1–0 win over Bologna. Juventus then face Atalanta at 5:00 pm.

Ligue 1: PSG and Marseille Meet in French Test

Lille and Monaco lead Ligue 1 on 10 points each, with both sides unbeaten after four matches. Lille host Nice on Sunday at 4:15 pm, while Monaco travel to Lens on Friday at 7:45 pm.

The weekend’s headline fixture comes on Sunday at 7:45 pm when Marseille host PSG. PSG finally secured their first league victory of the season with a 1–0 win over Brest, while Marseille have lost their last three matches, including a 1–0 defeat to Rennes. The meeting gives both sides an opportunity to build momentum as the early table takes shape.
