Lagos Police Launch Manhunt for Gunmen Who Killed NURTW Leader Toba Ajiboye
The Lagos State Police Command has launched a full-scale manhunt for the gunmen responsible for the killing of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Organising Secretary, Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Toba Ijaya.
Lagos Reporters gathered that Ajiboye died after he was reportedly attacked by unidentified armed men along Ikorodu Road while returning home from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi, Lagos.
The killing has sparked concern among members of the transport union and residents, with security agencies intensifying efforts to track down those behind the attack.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Abimbola Adebisi, said the command had commenced an extensive operation to apprehend the assailants.
According to her, security operatives have been deployed to strategic locations across Lagos State to forestall any breakdown of law and order while investigations into the incident continue.
The police urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid the arrest of the suspects.
