Nigerian Idol Season 10: New Judges, Fierce Competition, and a Stage Set for Stars!
Hit music talent show, Nigerian Idol is set to return for its 10th season, starting on April 20, 2025. With the theme “Your Voice, Your Victory,” the upcoming season promises a showcase of exceptional talent, compelling performances, and intense competition as contestants vie for the ultimate prize.
This season’s judging panel is a rich blend of experience and fresh insight. Returning to the panel are Omawumi, a powerhouse vocalist with a wealth of industry expertise, and Ric Hassani, known for his soulful sound and artistry. Joining them for the first time is award-winning singer Iyanya, whose journey from talent show contestant to music star adds perspective to the judging table.
Seasoned host, IK Osakioduwa, returns to guide us through competition, bringing his signature charm and engaging presence to the stage.
Speaking on the significance of this milestone season, Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, stated: “Nigerian Idol is more than just a competition; it is a platform that transforms lives. Over the years, we have seen aspiring artists step onto that stage and emerge as stars. Continuing its support for young talent, Bigi Drinks, remains the headline sponsor, joined by Nivea. Other sponsors include Camosunate, Arla Dano, and Daravit.
Since its revival in 2021, Nigerian Idol has grown into one of the country’s most anticipated music shows, helping young Nigerians chase their dreams.
Season 10 premieres on Sunday, April 20, at 7 p.m. on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv ch. 151, GOtv ch. 12) and Africa Magic Family (DStv ch. 154, GOtv ch. 2). Immediately after the premiere, the Idol Extra channel (DStv ch. 198, GOtv ch. 49) goes live. Fans can get 24/7 coverage with exclusive content, including auditions, backstage moments, and more.

Breaking: Court Grants Sowore Bail With N200 Million And Two Sureties As Conditions
Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court Abuja has granted a N200 million Naira bail, and two sureties to the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress and Online Publisher, Omoyele Sowore.In a ruling, Justice Umar ordered that one of the Surety, must be a traditional ruler from sowore’s community and the other, must have a landed property in Abuja. The sureties must also be verified by the prosecution team. The court also ordered Sowore to deposit his international passport with deputy chief registrar of the court.He is to remain in custody till the bail conditions are met.

Kwara effects minor cabinet reshuffle as Gov Abdulrazaq thanks affected appointees for selfless service
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a minor cabinet shake up involving all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants. The decision, which is meant to extend opportunities to more party members and inject fresh energy into the administration, also affected the Deputy Chief of Staff; and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor. “His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” according to a statement early Monday. The Governor directs all the affected appointees to hand over all government’s properties in their custody to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
