Osimhen, Man United In Europa League Action On DStv, GOtv

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhem will begin the chase for European Club competition glory with Galatasaray on Wednesday when they host PAOk Thessaloniki of Greece in the Europa League.
Galatasaray remains the only Turkish side to win a European trophy courtesy of their penalty shootout win over Arsenal in the year 2000 UEFA Cup final. The Turkish giants have had an excellent start to the 2024/25 season, taking 18 maximum points from their opening six matches in the league.
Osimhen turned up with an assist during their impressive 3-1 derby win over Fenerbahçe away from home on Saturday. Tune in to DStv ch 203 and GOtv ch 66 to watch live at 8 pm on Wednesday.
Also, on Wednesday, Manchester United will take on FC Twente at Old Trafford in a Europa League tie, live on DStv ch 205 and GOtv ch 61, at 8 pm. Erik Ten Hag’s men will aim to avoid another miserable Europen campaign, following last season’s run which saw them finish bottom of the group and crash out of Europe in December.
Having seen their league form dwindle in recent years, the Red Devils have been a good cup team in the last two seasons, winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. United are currently 11th in the Premier League table and the Europa League could present them a good shot at another silverware this season.
In the Spanish Laliga, defending Champions, Real Madrid will host Deportivo Alaves live on DStv ch 204 and GOtv 62 at 8 pm. Los Blancos are already four points behind the league leaders with just six matches played and cannot afford to drop points going into the weekend derby against Atletico Madrid. On Wednesday, Barcelona will host Getafe live on the same channel, at 8 pm. The Catalans have been perfect in the league this season, with six wins out of six. With the Madrid derby set to hold on Sunday, Barcelona knows a win will pile more pressure on Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
To enjoy all the matches and more, customers can take advantage of the GOtv Golden Window and upgrade to Supa Plus package for N13,900 instead of N15,700. You can also download the MyGOtv app for a better self-service experience.

Bosslady Bows Out, Top 6 Shine in an Emotional Nigerian Idol Episode

Another Sunday, another unforgettable night on Nigerian Idol Season 10, but this time, the emotions ran even deeper. With Father’s Day in the air and a nostalgic theme to match, contestants took us on personal journeys through childhood memories, heartfelt dedications, and powerful vocals. And yes, there were tears from both the stage and the seats. The show opened with a soul-stirring group performance of “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers, as all seven contestants harmonized their way into the audience’s hearts. It was a tender reminder of what this show stands for: unity, resilience, and voice.Host IK, channeling African royalty in a regal white shirt, wine cape, and beaded necklace, announced the episode’s theme, a throwback special sponsored by DARAVIT, spotlighting the roots and stories behind each performer. The judges made an entrance worthy of the moment. Omawunmi returned in queenly fashion, belting a playful version of “Lean on Me” in Urhobo. Ric Hassani paid homage to his roots with his father’s 1989 academic sash and cap, a subtle yet powerful nod to legacy. Iyanya rounded out the panel with his trademark cool. But the night wasn’t all celebration; it was time to say goodbye to Bosslady. Her exit was softened by an emotional surprise as her father walked onstage to embrace her. The moment was raw and beautiful, a reminder that even in departure, love takes center stage. Then came the solo performances, each one a story, each one a standout.Purp opened with “He Wasn’t Man Enough” by Toni Braxton. Her power and poise lit up the room, but it was her mom’s surprise appearance that sealed the moment with hugs and happy tears.Brammy followed with a soulful “You’ll Be in My Heart” (Phil Collins), a tribute to his mum, who has filled both parenting roles. She stole hearts with her cheeky “vote for my son” appeal to the crowd.Khristopher brought infectious energy with “Be Happy” (Mary J. Blige). Just as the judges began their feedback, his cousin crashed the moment, overwhelmed with joy, making for one of the night’s most joyous interruptions.Lawrence performed like a headliner, owning the stage with charisma and control. Omawunmi praised his smart vocal choices, and his mother’s surprise appearance added even more warmth to his high-energy set.Mikki delivered a gut-wrenching “All I Am” (Joe), dedicating it to his late mother. His performance was already emotional, but the arrival of his godfather, who was supposed to call in virtually, took it to another level. The shock, the love, the moment: unforgettable.Raymu closed the night with “My Heart Will Go On” (Celine Dion), dedicating it to his late father. The performance, drenched in emotion, moved the judges and left him, and much of the audience, in tears.Despite the sadness of Bosslady’s exit, the night ended on a triumphant note. The Top 6 now stand strong, each with stories that stretch beyond music; stories of family, faith, resilience, and love. With the finals drawing near, the stakes are higher than ever.Catch Nigerian Idol every Sunday at 7 PM on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Ch. 151, GOtv Ch. 8), Africa Magic Family (DStv Ch. 154, GOtv Ch. 7), or stream on GOtv & DStv Stream apps and Showmax.

The Build-Up Begins: Countdown to WWE Money In The Bank Airs Live This Saturday

There’s something about WWE that keeps millions coming back. Maybe it’s the clash of personalities, the drama in the ring, or the moments that get people talking long after the match is over. This Saturday at 10:00 PM on WWE GOtv Channel 68, viewers get to experience all of that and more with Countdown to Money In The Bank. The official live kick-off show sets the tone for one of WWE’s most unpredictable and talked-about events of the year.
Broadcasting live from the brand-new Intuit Dome in California, this show is more than just a preview. It’s a full experience for fans, whether you know the names or not. It offers a look behind the curtain, interviews with superstars, final match predictions, and a real sense of what’s at stake as the clock ticks down to the main event. For loyal followers, it’s a chance to get hyped. For new viewers, it’s the perfect way in.
But this year’s Money in the Bank carries extra weight. It marks the final time John Cena will appear at this particular event. For over two decades, Cena has been one of the most influential and recognizable figures in WWE, winning titles, headlining shows, and inspiring fans worldwide. Now on a farewell tour that’s as emotional as it is historic, his presence this Saturday brings with it a sense of closure, celebration, and reflection. Whether you’re watching out of respect for a legend or simply curious to see what makes him so special, Cena’s appearance alone makes this kick-off show worth watching.
Beyond Cena, the countdown also teases what many call the most game-changing match in WWE: the Money in the Bank ladder match. The idea is simple but brilliant. Several superstars battle it out in the ring, climbing ladders and taking hits in an all-out fight to grab a briefcase hanging above the ring. Inside that briefcase? A contract that lets the winner challenge for a championship anytime, anywhere. That one win could reshape everything. This match has built stars, ended reigns, and changed careers overnight. And the Countdown show helps set the tone for all of it. Who’s walking in with momentum, who’s the dark horse, and who might just steal the spotlight?
The great thing about WWE is that you don’t have to know everything to feel the intensity. It’s sport, it’s storytelling, it’s emotion, and Countdown to Money In The Bank brings all of that to your screen with no filters. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for something different on a Saturday night, this is a good place to start.
Tune in this Saturday by 10:00 PM on WWE GOtv Channel 68 and see what the build-up to one of WWE’s biggest nights looks like when the stakes are high, the stories are personal, and anything can happen.
To watch this live show and other fan favourites, renew your GOtv subscription or upgrade your package today via the MyGOtv App or dial *288#. And if you’re always on the move, catch every slam and story twist with the GOtv Stream App anytime, anywhere.
