Climate Change: Adebutu Sponsors Four To Egypt On Cooperative Studies Advancement

With the rising discussion on issues of climate change in Nigeria and Africa at large, and the need for government at all levels to find lasting and sustainable solutions to the issues on climate change, Hon. Dr. (Sir.) Oladipupo Adebutu, the Governorship hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, sponsored four persons, Mr Otinwa Olanrewaju, Mrs Ajayi Adenike, Prince O.A. Oriade and Mr E. Ayelabola, on a conference training to Cairo in Egypt.
The sponsorship afforded the participants the opportunity participate in the plenaried and parallel discussions on Supporting Cooperative Activities to Achieve Africa’s Agenda 2063 Goals: The Roles of Co-Operative in Maximizing Benefits of the AFCFTA; Cooperative in the Era of Climate Change, The Roles of Successful Cooperative Projects in the Development of Communities; Cooperation Among Cooperatives, Legal and Regulatory Policy Frameworks;Sustainable Cooperative etc.
The four days training was organized in recognition of the success recorded by the Egyptian Cooperative Housing Sector, played host to International Cooperative Alliance-Africa (ICA-AFRICA) at the 13th African Ministerial Cooperative Conference (AMCCO) for the first time under the patronage of H.E President Abd El Fattah El Sisi of Egypt along with the 4th International Conference Cooperative Housing (ICCH’22), and the 1st African Training Program for Cooperative Housing Managerial Skills for Cooperative Housing Leaders where issues on Cooperative housing and climate change were discussed.
The participants who described the training as a life changing experience also understudied the Cooperative Housing Model at the NBE Cooperative Compound in the New Administrative Capital, Cairo, Egypt, visited the New Capital Library with a collection of more than five million books, Madanity Golf Course, New Egypt Capital Museum among others.
In his reaction, Hon. Adebutu describes the gesture as a reflection of his special interest in Cooperative Business Model and an avenue to contribute to the solution to climate challenge in Nigeria and Africa at large, stressing that he is certain the participants will put the knowledge they acquired to good benefit for Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
