Police arrest suspect for alleged rape of housewife for 150 days

Police have arrested a 30-year-old suspected kidnapper and serial rapist, Surajo Dauda, for allegedly abducting an 18-year-old housewife, Jamila Auwal, for about 150 days in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria.

Police State Command spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, while parading the suspect alongside others said, he is from Rijiyar Basai village of Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State, while the victim is from Tandama village in the same Local Government Area.

According to Isah, the suspect, Dauda, during interrogation, confessed to have abducted and drugged the housewife.

The suspect also confessed to have locked up the housewife for five months in a room and raped her daily for the 5 months period she was in captivity.

The police image maker further said, investigation is ongoing in the matter.
