YCYW Charges Youths TO Embrace Peace, Oneness And Be Hopeful As Nigeria Independently Turns 60
Tara Fela-Durotoye said and I quote ‘A nation is not defined by its borders or the boundaries of its land mass. Rather, a nation is defined by adverse people who have been unified by a cause and a value system and who are committed to a vision for the type of society they wish to live in and give to the future generations to come.’
In lieu of the above, on behalf of the entire Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, Ogun State Council under the auspicious chairmanship of Hon. Sunday Adebowale, joins the entire world and good people of our beloved country to celebrate the sixtieth (60th) anniversary of our independence.
The number one (No. 1) Yoruba Youth of ogun state in his statement released to the press charges all Nigerian youths not to be used as a devilish tool to divide the unity and peaceful coexistence of our dear multilingual country as tirelessly and relentlessly achieved by our heroes past, but rather be used as tools to proffering possible and fruitful solutions to the challenges facing the growth and development of this country. He further emphasized categorically that Nigeria has remained a strong and unbreakable country despite all plots and by God’s willing no weapon fashioned against her shall prosper.
He then call on the attention of the government across all levels and parastatal to ensure they always have the interest of the populace at the top of their dealings in order for all to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
We therefore unequivocally seize this medium to inform our members and good people of Ogun state , whole world, and having earlier instructed and directed by Aare Oladotun Hassan,Esq.(National President YCYW) that all members of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide and all our affiliate organizations not to promote any Oodua flags, emblems, insignia nor participate in the declared ‘Yoruba Exit Rally’ of 1st October, 2020.

Nigeria At 62: Entrepreneurship and Industrial Hubs Hold Key To A Beautiful Nigeria — Nami

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Muhammad Nami has stated that a beautiful Nigeria is possible through the proliferation of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Hubs across the Federation, noting that the adoption of this model would create all-round economic transformation.
In his Goodwill Message to Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 62nd Independence Day anniversary, Mr. Nami urged Nigerians to invest in creating entrepreneurship and industrialization hubs as they hold the “key to unlock the massive economic potentials of the country.”
The Executive Chairman of the FIRS called on States to emulate Ondo State’s Entrepreneurship Village which was set up to groom and harvest talents for the industrialization of the state. He called on other state governments to adopt this model and set up similar hubs in their states as a way of channeling the energies of young Nigerians to productive use.
“Nigeria is a country with limitless potentials. We are a resilient and talented people, and what these young Nigerians need is the enabling environment to thrive.
“A good place to start is the setting up of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Hubs across every State in the country. This would set off a chain-reaction that would turn around the fortunes of the country, and tap into the potentials of our vast young and dexterous population.”
Mr. Nami called on the various state governments to adopt and deploy this model as a strategy to tackle issues of unemployment and insecurity, while spurring economic activities in their states.
“The model will take young people away from the streets and put them into productive activities.
“You will be surprised the amount of jobs that would be created. Multitudes would have their lives changed, and an abundance of economic activities would be sparked across the nooks and crannies of our country in an unprecedented manner. Nigeria has what it takes to lead the world, and this is one way to go, ” Mr Nami said.
The FIRS boss also used the opportunity to task Nigerians to see themselves as the drivers of the country’s development through their patriotic conducts, such as the paying of taxes.
“I am a firm believer that each of us has a role to play in building the Nigeria of our dreams. But we can only achieve this when we are patriotic and carry out civil obligations expected from us, such as respect for law and order, paying our taxes, and loyalty to our country.”

Nigeria @60: Time For A Sober Reflection
The supreme umbrella body of all Yoruba youths and women: Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide and Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide under the aegis of the Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye of the global body heartily felicitates with all Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary slated for 1st October, 2020.
Unarguably, the nation is passing through her trying times and grave challenges bordering on insecurity, economic crisis and political instability for a long period of time, spanning pre- independence till date.
Despite the numerous aggravated economic assaults done on the majority of the citizenry, yet we remain stronger and hopeful, invariably this is highly commendable of our enduring spirits and patience as we collectively forge ahead aftermath of the perilous total lock down periods as a result of the global Covid 19 pandemic.
We salute the excruciating resilience and bravery to survive the current economic downturns ranging from unbearable astronomical increased fuel, VAT and electricity tariffs, while the Nigerian Labour Congress alongside TUC and others grossly disappointed the verse majority of Nigerians by calling off the declared 28th September nationwide abruptly without a well exhausted widely acceptable consultations with all the sister’s organizations, Civil Society Organizations alongside all Nigerians before unilaterally deciding only on a month reduced electricity tariff, while the unacceptable increased fuel pump price predicated upon the opaquely deregulation and clandestine removal of subsidy, unfortunately the highest mainstay of the economy was deceitfully left to all Nigerian’s destiny to decide and fight for.
Most regrettably this is highly treacherous and degradingly disappointing on the part of the FG and their NLC-TUC cohorts, after the macabre dancing and raising the hopes of the Nigerian masses only to deflate it with a premeditated evil agenda needle.
We are calling on the Federal Government to look inward for onward solutions by urgently reducing the fuel pump price far below its status quo.
We fundamentally demand the urgent simultaneous fixing and accelerated repairs of all our oil refineries for onward maximum productivity outputs.
We use this medium to call on the Federal Government to set up a monitoring steering committee that will provide all the needed enabling conducive environment for the convocation of “National Peoples Dialogue” that will see to the realization of a restructured state.
We remain undeterred by the recent tribulation’s happenings in the country, but it is high time we promote succinct delivery of dividends of democracy and national patriotism towards ensuring national unity, peace and development.
We call for urgent national discuss on the aggravated issues of insecurity and killings of Nigerians by wrecking monumental havoc and instilling fatal blow on our territorial boundary by the dreaded Fulani armed terrorists, while demanding for the total overhaul of the nation’s security institutions and immediate review of appointments of the service chiefs, who are in excess of their statutory tenured periods.
Furthermore with abosolute demand for the full implementation of the 2014 CONFAB report.
Also, we need to avert all the entreaties of war and provocative tendencies currently pervading the nation;a reflection of a failed and pariah state, as a result of th continuous total neglect by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration on key fundamentals in consonance with the “APC led Change Mantra” unfulfilled promises after five years , for no nation can survive two civil wars, yet we ramain eternally grateful for God’s interventions at various points in time.
Hence, the need for extreme sober reflections on the need to jointly promote peace and grow our nation progressively.

Nigeria@60: Group plans virtual concert to celebrate Nigeria

As Nigeria prepares to mark her 60th Independence Anniversary, a Lagos-based agency has put modalities in place for a virtual concert to showcase positive changes recorded in the last six decades of nationhood.
The concert tagged #UnlockNaijaAt60 will feature popular Nigerian musicians, comedians, dancers and actors performing to a global audience live via web streaming and on television.
The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to come up with innovative ideas and suggestions towards making the 60th anniversary a success in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the globe.

“That is why we have decided to celebrate this milestone independence anniversary regardless of the challenges of Covid-19,” he said.
