Buhari to meet with security chiefs, on-the state of the nation

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday discuss with the Security Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring the President up to speed on the developments while plans to bring a decisive end to the challenges will be formulated.
The President returned to Abuja last Friday after 18 days in London, during which he attended an education summit and did health checks.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina, on Tuesday said that the security forces have in the past few weeks, taken the battle more robustly to insurgents, bandits, and all other criminals troubling the country, and they are now surrendering in droves, hence the need to brief the President.

Just In: President Buhari leaves Abuja on medical trip to London

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday departed Abuja for routine medical check-up in London, United Kingdom.
The President had initially planned to embark on the trip from Nairobi, Kenya after attending the 50th anniversary programme of the United Nations Environmental Programme, UNEP.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina had in a statement on March 1 said that from Kenya, the President would proceed to London for ”routine medical checks that will last for a maximum of two weeks”.
However, the President returned to Abuja on Friday at about 1.p.m before embarking on the London trip on Sunday.
In an interview with correspondents at the Airport, President Buhari spoke on his trip to London and lingering crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC ahead of the March 26 National Convention of the party.
President Buhari is expected to return to Abuja in the third week of March.

Buhari rejoices with Itsekiris on coronation of 21st Olu of Warri

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated all Itsekiris home and abroad, on the installation of Prince Tsola Emiko as the 21st Olu of Warri.
The President in a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity Femi Adesina salutes the Kingdom for overcoming the issues that arose after the initial appointment of the Olu-designate, urging that any outstanding matters should be amicably resolved in the interest of peace and tranquility.
The President noted that as a Western-trained political scientist, and management expert, the new Olu should use his gift and intellect to serve his people, noting the peaceful disposition of Itsekiris to peace in the Niger Delta region, and the country in general.
The President prays that the new epoch will consolidate the peace, progress, and prosperity of all members of the Warri Kingdom.

Buhari condoles with Fawehinmi family over death of Mohammed

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family of the late irrepressible lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi, over the death of their son, Mohammed.
The President in a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity Femi Adesina condoled with mother of the deceased, Ganiat and the entire family, urging them to find comfort in God, who gives and takes and to draw consolation in the fact that the departed robustly fought a debilitating health condition, which confined him to the wheelchair for many years.
The President said “His body may have been broken, but his spirit was virile, agile, and he kept the flag of the family flying, doing justice to the memory of his late father,”
While praying for the repose of the soul of the departed, President Buhari urged strength for all those who mourn Mohammed Fawehinmi.
