Lagos, Nigeria, October 2026 – FirstCap Limited, a leading investment banking firm and subsidiary of First HoldCo Plc, participated in the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit (NESG 32), where the Managing Director/CEO, Ukandu E. Ukandu, contributed to high-level discussions on mobilising capital to support business growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable economic expansion in Nigeria.

Held in Abuja under the theme, “Growth That Works: Delivering Jobs, Productivity and Shared Prosperity,” NESG 32 brought together policymakers, investors, development partners, and private-sector leaders to explore strategies for translating economic reforms into increased investment, productivity, and job creation.

Speaking during the sessions “Investing in Nigeria’s Productive Future” and “From Reform to Capital Mobilisation: Unlocking the Next Wave of Productive Investment in Nigeria,” the Managing Director, Ukandu highlighted the importance of creating investment-ready businesses and projects through strong corporate governance, financial transparency, credible reporting, and financing structures aligned with different stages of growth.

Discussions also focused on addressing financing gaps in critical infrastructure, particularly in power and industrial utilities, as well as the role of innovative financing solutions such as blended finance, credit enhancement mechanisms, guaranteed bonds, and professionally managed investment vehicles in attracting long-term institutional capital.

A key theme across both sessions was the need to strengthen the connection between available capital and investable opportunities. With significant domestic institutional funds available through pension and other long-term savings pools, stakeholders emphasized the importance of developing well-structured projects capable of attracting sustainable investment.

For FirstCap, advancing economic growth requires more than the availability of capital. It also depends on creating a strong pipeline of investment-ready businesses and infrastructure projects supported by sound governance, transparent financial information, and effective risk-management frameworks.

FirstCap’s participation at NESG 32 reflects its commitment to facilitating capital mobilisation, supporting productive investment, and developing financing solutions that help businesses and infrastructure projects unlock long-term value. As Nigeria seeks to deepen investment and expand productive capacity, stronger links between institutional capital and quality investment opportunities will remain critical to accelerating economic growth and shared prosperity.
