A video clip of Apostle Michael Orokpo preaching on the role of Christian ethics, missionary work, and spiritual revival has spread rapidly on X after being shared by @Iam_MrEben with the caption “APOSTLE Michael Orokko 🔥 God bless you!” (Watch Video: https://x.com/Iam_MrEben/status/2105136873689526285?s=20
In the footage, Orokpo argues that societies flourish when built on Christian values. He points to how early missionaries carried the gospel worldwide and how those principles helped shape modern America. He stresses the need for intimacy with God and ethical living rather than influence without character.
The post quickly drew thousands of likes, reposts, and views. Supporters praised the message as a timely call for spiritual awakening in Nigeria. Others used the clip in an ongoing conversation about whether the country’s primary calling is revival and prayer or whether young people should also pursue technology, innovation, and practical nation-building.
The discussion intensified after activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) criticized similar “revival nation” teachings, arguing they can discourage creativity and development while some church leaders relocate families to countries built on industry and science. Replies under the Orokpo clip reflected the split: some welcomed the emphasis on holiness and prayer; others said Nigeria also needs skills, infrastructure, and economic progress.
Orokpo, founder of Encounter Jesus Ministries International, is a well-known Nigerian preacher whose sermons on revival, holiness, and the kingdom regularly circulate online. The latest clip has become part of a larger public argument about the balance between spiritual focus and tangible development.
