BREAKING: EFCC quizzes Abdulfatah Ahmed over billions diverted as Governor, Saraki’s Commissioner
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is quizzing Abdulfatah Ahmed, an ex-governor of Kwara State, over transactions running into billions of naira during his tenure as governor.
Ahmed was seen arriving at the Ilorin office of the EFCC on Monday morning.
FidelInfo gathered that the anti-graft agency invited him and is currently answering questions on how the monies were spent under his government.
Megida, as he is fondly called, was governor of Kwara between May 2011 and May 2019 before he handed over to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
In May 2021, he was invited and quizzed by a crack team of operatives at the EFCC headquarters in the Jabi area of Abuja in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of about N9 billion from the purse of the Kwara State Government.The money was allegedly diverted during his time as governor of the state and when he served as the Commissioner for Finance in the administration of former governor Bukola Saraki.
