No fewer than two thousand residents of Calabar and its environs have been provided free Eyecare Services as part of World glaucoma week.
The Commander of Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Calabar, Dominica Adebayo says the efforts was part of the Nigerian Navy Social Responsibility to host communities.
Adebayo said the goal was to alert everyone on the need for regular eye checkups so that glaucoma can be detected as early as possible and medical action taken to prevent blindness.
The Commander said the hospital is open to all civilians who are in need of medical attention.
Some of the beneficiaries of the eyecare commended the Nigerian Navy for the gesture provided.
