The people of Calabar South local Government Area of Cross River State have expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death of their Chairman,Esther Bassey ,who passed early hours of Friday.
Calabar South Local Government has the largest voters in Cross River with thick population and Bassey was seen last night mobilizing electorate to vote APC at this Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Unconfirmed reports say Bassey has been on hypertension drugs, an information which suggest she was hypertensive.
Queen of Calabar South as she’s fondly called was a leader of All Progressives Congress in the area and a strong political party mobilizer.
She became the Chairman of Calabar South Local Government Area in 2020 after she emerged as the winner during the competitive elections.
