At the conclusion of its meeting, it was learnt that the union has resolved to extend the ongoing strike.

The extension coincides with the end of a 4-week roll over of the strike, which started on August 1.

While details of the meeting are still being expected, ASUU, it was learnt, will also make its position clear on the “no work, no pay” stance of the government

The current ASUU strike began on February 14, 2022 to push for the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, revitalisation funds and adoption of the University Transperancy and Accountability Solution, UTAS, in place of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.
