Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over allegations of theft and money laundering.
Sources within the agency who confirmed this development to ait.live explained that the former Kwara State Governor was detained on Saturday over new allegations of laundering public funds using a network of cronies through proxy companies.
The source further disclosed that the agency’s decision to arrest the former governor was informed by several evidence of contracts purportedly executed through the said proxies during his time as Governor of Kwara State.
