INEC targets one million new voters in Abia

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abia State, South says it is targeting about one million new registered voters under the Continuous Voters Registration exercise.

State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Joseph Ilo told Journalists in Umuahia that the online Pre-Continuous Voters Registration exercise has commenced, while the In -person registration exercise will commence on July 19, 2021.

Ilo called on eligible voters to take advantage of the ongoing exercise and get registered to improve the chances of voting the candidates of their choice into government.

He also said the number of polling units in the State now stands at four thousand and sixty-two, following the conversion of more voting points to polling units in the seventeen Local Government Areas.
