The Nigeria Labour Congress in Nasarawa has embarked on an indefinite strike over poor welfare package.

The state Labour union have also rejected the partial implementation of N30, 000 minimum wage in the state.

Yusuf Iya, Chairman of NLC in the state, said this during a press conference in Lafia, the state capital.

Iya said the state government has been unfair to workers in the state adding that for over 14 years most workers worked without promotions, training, leave grants amongst other welfare packages.

NLC chairman and his Trade union Congress counterpart , Mohammed Doma said the government only wants to implement a minimum wage for workers on GL01 to 06, without the corresponding consequential adjustments for other grade levels.

The state labour leaders explained that if the state government fails to do the needful by meeting up with their demands the state will be shut down completely.
