The Nigerian government has concluded an arrangement to temporarily relocate the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka, to a safer location.
This is to provide adequate security to the staff and students, following the kidnap of 37 students and their subsequent release.
The Provost of the college, Dr Usman Bala, disclosed this at a news conference in Afaka.
He said the arrangement is coming from the Ministry of Environment.
Dr Bala said that all the abducted students have also been granted a waiver from paying school fees.
Dr Bala noted that all research activities will still be domiciled in the college.
