Bill and Melinda Gates announce divorce after 27 years, saying “we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple”
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship we made the decision to end our marriage”. The couple wrote on Twitter.

They have three children together, and jointly run the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which has poured billions of dollars into developmental projects in developing countries.
They had met when Melinda worked in Microsoft, and have asked for their privacy to be respected.
